Navient settles “robocall” suit

Plaintiffs in the the “robocall” lawsuit against Navient will share in $2.5 million after the case alleging violations of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act was settled.

As detailed here in insideARM, The 2017 suit alleged that Navient used automatic dialling systems to place calls seeking location information to people’s cell phones with consent.

These included, according to the plaintiff’s case, calls made to relatives of student borrowers whose loans were handled by Navient.

The case also alleged Navient continued to call affected individuals even when they told the loan provider they did not want to receive further calls.
